Queensland Country Tourism partnered with the Australian Centre for Regional Events to deliver a tailored 12-month program designed to strengthen the competitiveness, professionalism and long-term sustainability of regional events across the region. Through training, mentoring and strategic planning support, participating events gained stronger foundations in marketing, governance, visitor experience, succession planning and community partnerships, helping them build more resilient and impactful events for the future.

Since launching in 2016, the Esk Garden Fair has grown into a much-loved community event in the heart of Esk. Through the Destination Elevate program, the committee strengthened its strategic planning, embraced new technology and more professional systems, and built greater confidence in delivering a successful, sustainable event with stronger community and business support.
