Let me tell you a little more about who we are and help you get an understanding of what this regional events community can do for you!

For close to ten years as regional tourism consultancy Tilma Group we have been working with regional and rural communities to grow and develop their tourism and events economy. We have worked with over 40 regional festivals and events in this time, supporting them with everything from strategic business planning and marketing strategies through to complete event management solutions.

We know the struggle you are having, we know that sponsorship is tough to secure, we know that it’s hard to recruit new (and sometimes younger) volunteers and we know that you are getting tired! We also know that our regional and rural communities and economies will suffer if we lose your great destination events!!

Events are important drivers of tourism. Research indicates three-quarters of event attendees would not have gone to a destination if not for an event. For 57% of first-time visitors to the region, the event is the main reason for visiting and likewise for 69% of repeat visitors. Based on feedback and regular discussions we have had with regional and rural event committees we have created what we believe will help you manage your events better and reduce the amount of stress that you are experiencing. This is not your day job after all!

So, after two years of planning (and many more years of dreaming about it) we are extremely excited to launch the first phase of rEVENTS Academy, an online community of regional and rural event committees/coordinators that can share information, learn and upskill, cross promote and collaborate, support one another and have some fun.
